Job Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of data analysts, driving process improvements, and providing insights that inform business decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Digital Technology and Product groups, to develop and maintain strong relationships and drive business outcomes. Your expertise in data analysis, business intelligence, and leadership will be essential in this position, and you will have the opportunity to work on complex projects, develop and implement new solutions, and collaborate with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 3-4 data analysts, providing technical guidance and expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality results
- Conduct in-depth analysis of new platform updates and application releases, exploring system performance, errors, response times, and service logs to identify areas for improvement
- Develop and maintain comprehensive data analysis workstreams, including data perceptions, application performance analysis, error patterns, and top factors contributing to errors
- Design and implement internal process improvements, providing recommendations for performance and greater agility, and modeling and coding data to drive business outcomes
- Build trusted data products, including dashboards and reporting tools, to support Digital Technology and Client Travel Experience leadership in making data-driven decisions
- Communicate and present updates to senior management, developing standard presentations and ensuring that insights are actionable and informative
- Manage the deployment and maintenance of Power BI workspaces and SQL scripts that convert log data into meaningful insights
- Ensure seamless integration of BI solutions with existing systems and data sources
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, tools, and best practices in BI and data analysis
- Lead reviews of models, solution approaches, and code with the team to leverage collective insight and reviews of solutions with business/product leadership teams to ensure that they are satisfactory
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in data analysis, business intelligence, and leadership. The minimum qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Science, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, analysis, and data engineering, with 3+ years of experience in a Fortune 500 company
- 1+ year of leadership experience
- Experience building presentations for partners and leaders at the MD and VP level and interfacing with all levels of management
- Master-level BI dashboarding experience (e.g., Power BI, Tibco Spotfire, etc.) to produce meaningful, rich dashboards
- Advanced Excel data analysis skills
- Ability to study/understand business needs, design data/technology metrics that connect business processes with quantifiable platform results, and grasp key metrics/Objective Settings from teams to large organizations
- High-level SQL skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, using data to address issues
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of an interview is required to meet job eligibility
- Reliable, consistent attendance is a fundamental requirement of the position
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will be considered an asset:
- Graduate degree in Information Systems, Aviation Management, or a related degree, MBA
- Google Data Analysis Professional Certification, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, AWS Certified Data Analysis, Enterprise Data Warehouse certifications, Palantir, Client-Side performance metrics tools (e.g., Quantum Metrics)
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Experience with DataDog/AppD/Kibana is a significant upside
- Experience with Enterprise monitoring systems is a plus
- Experience with Palantir Foundry, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Past airline or travel industry experience is an asset
- Experience with AWS - Redshift, Quicksight, Athena
- Experience with BigQuery
