You'll be responsible for resolving customer inquiries, investigating complaints, and ensuring timely follow-up actions to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Your expertise in utility billing software, such as Central Square and Neptune Reading, will be invaluable in this role. If you're a customer-centric professional with excellent communication skills, a strong analytical mindset, and a passion for delivering exceptional service, we encourage you to apply. **Key Responsibilities:** * Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner * Investigate customer complaints concerning services and billings, examining bills, meter readings, and related records to determine validity * Coordinate follow-up actions with other functional areas to ensure customer satisfaction * Assist in the collection of delinquent utility accounts and notify customers and appropriate personnel of findings and/or adjustments * Write letters to businesses and customers in response to inquiries and arrange for special pick-ups as needed * Process new account requests for water, sewer, and garbage accounts and input relevant data * Sort mail on a daily basis and process work orders and service orders * Prioritize job duties and perform related work as necessary * Collaborate with service workers regarding complaint work and ensure timely resolution of customer issues **Essential Qualifications:** * High school diploma or equivalent * Experience in utility customer service and/or Central Square billing software is preferred * Knowledge of utility billing, municipal laws, policies, and practices * Familiarity with bookkeeping and clerical principles and methods * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel spreadsheets and Word documents * Ability to compose correspondence and communicate effectively with customers, both in person and over the phone * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to calmly resolve customer inquiries and work well under stress * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience working in a customer-facing role, preferably in a utility or municipal setting * Knowledge of Neptune Reading software and other utility billing systems * Familiarity with municipal laws and regulations * Certification in customer service or a related field **Skills and Competencies:** * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word * Ability to compose correspondence and communicate effectively with customers * Strong customer service skills, with a focus on resolving complex issues and ensuring customer satisfaction * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:** At arenaflex, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
