Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Assist all internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.

- Receive requests from multiple sources (phone, fax, e-Commerce, in-person) and complete the necessary processes for equipment services.
- Coordinate home equipment service requests with Dispatch for prompt delivery, ensuring seamless communication and follow-up.
- Engage in active listening with customers, confirming or clarifying information, and diffusing angry customers as needed.
- Provide customers with product and service information, answering questions and addressing concerns in a knowledgeable and helpful manner.
- Maintain current knowledge on Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources for equipment, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Verify medical necessity, insurance coverage, and physician orders for all insurance-assigned services, following policy and work instructions to ensure the Billing Department has the correct paperwork to complete insurance.
- Strive to meet or exceed department metrics while providing excellent customer service, making sales or recommendations for products or services that may complement client needs, as applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and have at least 6 months of relevant customer service experience. You should be professional, proactive, and positive, with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience in a call center or customer-facing environment, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
- Knowledge of medical equipment, Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources, with the ability to learn and adapt to new information and systems.
- Strong data entry skills, with proficiency in computers and strong typing skills, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
