Primary Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Customer Development Manager include:
- Managing data sources to monitor the field execution of vendor programs and assortments, with a focus on customers like Costco.
- Communicating complex and detailed information to multiple individuals and audiences with differing knowledge levels, both internally and externally.
- Staying informed of analytic best practices across the industry and providing effective information to deliver sales, margin, and market development goals.
- Analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Tracking category performance, including sales, profits, margins, and market share, with a focus on national customers.
- Developing, communicating, executing, and monitoring specific performance metrics and goals relevant to each business as part of regular, scheduled business reviews.
- Creating and delivering effective reports using POS data, Syndicated Data, and account-specific database information in presentation-ready formats.
- Evaluating and making recommendations on supplier performance to enhance the company's inventory and fill rate objectives.
- Understanding and applying customer, consumer, and industry insights using market research data to deliver category growth.
- Ensuring superior client satisfaction by providing hands-on deep analytics and contributing to team problem-solving.
- Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's Degree and experience within the CPG sector, with Adult Beverage experience preferred, and experience working with customers like Costco being a significant value-add.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and quantitative analysis skills.
- The ability to incorporate and interpret data from multiple unrelated data sources into concise, action-oriented recommendations.
- Understanding of National Chain Sales, Retail, and Distributor operations, with a focus on customers like Costco.
- Expertise in category management principles, syndicated data, and shopper/consumer insights (Numerator/Spectra, etc.).
- Ability to collaborate with external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal teams to deliver insights and recommendations.
- Assertive leadership and decision-making skills with an aptitude for understanding changing market dynamics and resolving complex problems.
- Preferred experience working with Syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI), Internal Shipment Data, and Household Panel.
- Strong leadership, decision-making capability, and a proven track record of success.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
