Job Overview
The Chief Architect - Information Examination and Information Science will play a critical role in shaping the vision, strategy, and design of blithequark's data analysis and science capabilities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of subject matter experts, providing technical guidance and developing a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Drive modern software practices through design reviews and ensure structure setup through technical oversight across multiple teams
- Develop "top-level" planning for services, ensuring that services and components are modular, secure, strong, diagnosable, and reusable
- Further develop test integration for services, identify and complete compromise tests, and resolve problem areas
- Ensure testability, minimization/checking, continuous quality, and common sense, and determine when code is fit to be shared and deployed
- Focus on business needs through a data-driven approach, analyzing and improving automation, reliability, and monitoring for deployed products
- Set the overall vision for data analysis and reporting, aligning with business objectives, and provide expertise in coordinating the overall process of data analysis specific initiatives
- Design, create, and streamline complex data models and reporting structures, driving the development and implementation of scalable and effective data analysis and reporting structures
- Ensure the integrity, security, and performance of data products and reporting arrangements by collaborating with platforms, data engineering, and organization teams
- Describe and execute the long-term strategy for data analysis, incorporating advancements and industry trends
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and assess their relevance to the organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to encourage total data solutions
- Develop a supportive environment that enables data sharing and skill improvement, leading technical power sessions and lunch and learn gatherings for the planning community
Essential Qualifications
- Proven history with at least 15+ years of active involvement with data analysis and reporting positions
- 5+ years of experience in lead or senior positions, demonstrating the ability to guide and lead a team
- 5+ years of experience working with Cloud technologies, such as ADLS, Azure Databricks, Spark, Azure Machine Learning, Universe DB, DBT, and other big data technologies
- Demonstrated advanced expertise in data analysis tools, languages, ML, and frameworks (e.g., Cosmos, PowerBI, SQL, Python, R)
- Proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to effectively communicate insights
- Experience working with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, to author and execute scalable and effective data analysis plans
- Strong understanding of Lakehouse architecture norms, combining the best of data lakes and data warehouses for robust and scalable data management
- High-level SQL skills, with a solid understanding of relational databases and business intelligence to create complex SQL queries against multiple data sources
- Experience managing high-volume and high-velocity data streams, and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time analysis
- Experience in setting the overall vision for data analysis and reporting initiatives within an organization
- Effective management of data analysis projects, including planning, execution, and delivery
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, adapt to emerging trends, and implement industry best practices
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science, or a related technical discipline
- Relevant industry certifications are a plus
- Experience in retail, manufacturing, e-commerce, or store operations
