Entry Level Bookkeeper

Overview: We are a financial services firm specializing in bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation, sales tax filings, and business consulting, seeking to hire long-term entry level bookkeeper to join our team - no experience needed, we will train the right person. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in accounting and finance. Individual will be responsible for reconciling accounts for various clients, processing payroll, sales taxes, and financial reports. Responsibilities: -Will be responsible for managing clients, to include emails and phone calls with clients -Prepare monthly financials such as P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements -Reconcile bank and credit card accounts in Xero and QuickBooks Online -Processing payroll and quarterly payroll reports in QuickBooks Online -Prepare W2s and 1099s at year end-Work as part of a team on bigger projects to get them completed on time Skills: -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Strong work ethic, professionalism, dependability, and integrity -Motivated worker -Detail Oriented -Must have strong computer skills Experience: - No prior experience required; training will be provided - Familiarity with accounting software is a plus - Basic knowledge of 10 key typing is beneficial - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry - Ability to work well in a team environment Qualifications: -Associates or Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required. Students and recent college graduates are encouraged to apply. -Must be willing to learn new software This is a part time position with flexible hours and room to grow, working from my home office with 2 dogs (this is NOT a remote position). Applicants should be located in Colorado Springs. (Powers & Constitution) Starting pay is $16/hr as a 1099 contractor. A background check and NDA are required.
