Deputy Manager
A Senior SAP ABAP Developer with 6+ years of experience is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting SAP technical solutions across various SAP modules. The role requires strong expertise in ABAP programming, object-oriented development, integrations, and SAP enhancement frameworks, while collaborating closely with functional teams to deliver efficient business solutions.
Qualification: At least BCS / BS (Computer Science)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows) objects in SAP systems.
- Develop advanced ALV reports, classical and interactive reports to support business reporting requirements.
- Create and maintain SmartForms, Adobe Forms, and SAPscript for document output processes.
- Develop and troubleshoot Business Workflows and Process-Controlled Workflows.
- Build and enhance integrations using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, Proxies, and Web Services.
- Develop OData services and CDS Views to support modern SAP applications and reporting.
- Apply Object-Oriented ABAP (OOPS) concepts for scalable and maintainable development.
- Work with modern programming models such as RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) and CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model) where required.
- Implement enhancements using User Exits, BAdIs, and Enhancement Framework (implicit and explicit enhancements).
- Perform advanced ABAP debugging, root cause analysis, and performance tuning to optimise application performance.
- Collaborate with functional consultants in SD, MM, WM, PP, and FICO modules to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support the development of Fiori/UI5 applications and backend services where required.
- Contribute to SAP BTP-based developments and integrations where applicable.
- Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and rollouts, ensuring smooth technical delivery.
- Prepare technical specifications, documentation, and code reviews following SAP best practices.
- Provide production support, incident resolution, and continuous improvement of SAP applications.
- Engage in customer-facing discussions to understand requirements and provide technical recommendations.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in Core ABAP (Reports, Interfaces, IDocs, Enhancements, OOPS).
- Experience in ALV development, SmartForms, Adobe Forms, and SAPscript.
- Knowledge of OData services and CDS Views.
- Experience with Proxies, RFC, BAPI integrations.
- Familiarity with RAP / CAP programming models.
- Working knowledge of SAP Fiori and UI5 basics.
- Understanding of the BOPF framework and CDS-based development.
- Strong debugging, performance optimisation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic functional understanding of MM/PP/FI/PM/QM processes.
