In this role, the Consumer Dispute Specialist I will investigate consumer disputes from start to finish, ensuring compliance with FCRA guidelines and delivering a reliable, consumer-focused experience.
Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and resolve consumer disputes related to tenant screening application results with accuracy and professionalism
- Process all dispute activities in compliance with FCRA regulations, Yardi Resident Screening guidelines, and required time frames
- Communicate clearly with consumers to gather details, provide updates, and deliver investigation results
- Maintain thorough documentation of all steps taken throughout the dispute resolution process
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One to two (1-2) years of experience in a legal or regulatory compliance position
- Knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act or other consumer rights processes
- Knowledge of credit reports and civil and criminal record terminology
- Ability to meet critical deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong organizational skills
- Accountability and follow-through skills
- Ability to adjust to new processes and procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional phone demeanor skills
- Experience working as a paralegal
