Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of our Clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, with a proven track record in managing complex financial systems. This role offers an opportunity to lead financial strategies, ensure accuracy in reporting, and support organizational growth within a dynamic environment. The Controller will be instrumental in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring adherence to GAAP, SOX, IFRS, and other relevant standards.
Responsibilities
• Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely processing and accuracy.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
• Supervise payroll processing and ensure adherence to applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Oversee budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Maintain expertise in technical accounting issues such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts relevant to the organization’s operations.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, or other financial management tools for accurate data entry and reporting.
• Prepare detailed financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, non-profit accounting standards (if applicable), governmental accounting regulations (if applicable), and other relevant frameworks.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Extensive experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP.
• Proven expertise in financial report writing, account reconciliation, cash management, and regulatory reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; advanced skills in financial software are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
• Experience working within non-profit organizations or governmental entities is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with strong financial acumen; ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating across departments. Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
