BetterLife is looking for a personable, reliable, and community-oriented Part-Time Community Engagement Specialist to support and strengthen connections with our members. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys attending social events, supporting volunteer efforts, and fostering meaningful relationships. The position involves attending member meetings, assisting with group activities, and representing our organization at community events—primarily during evenings and weekends. This person will be responsible for approximately 10-15 member groups and will serve as the primary liaison between local BetterLife agents and membership team.
+ Essential Job Functions
Attend and actively participate in member group meetings and events during evenings and weekends.
Support planning, setup, and execution of member and community events
Serve as a point of contact for members, answering questions and encouraging involvement
Promote upcoming activities and initiatives through conversation, printed materials, and occasional social media posts
Track attendance and collect feedback from members to help improve engagement strategies
Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members and event participants
Represent the organization positively in the community and build local partnerships where appropriate.
Recruit members to fill leadership vacancies.
Meet with community leaders and key local community partners in order to start new member groups.
Serve as primary liaison between local BetterLife agents and BetterLife’s Member and Community Engagement Team
+ Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Energetic, outgoing, and passionate about community building
Availability to work flexible hours, primarily evenings and weekends (up to 5.5 hours of drive time per week)
Previous experience in member relations, volunteer coordination, or event support is a plus
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Proficient in hybrid/work systems and tools (ex. Microsoft office, Teams, etc.)
Some experience with Customer Relationship Management systems (Salesforce).
Comfortable with phone calls and making introductions.
Valid driver's License and Reliable transportation or the ability to rent vehicles to attend various events and meetings
Preferred established connection in rural communities where BetterLife is present.
+ Compensation
This position is part-time, up to 26 hours, with an hourly rate of $27.88 - $35.10.
