BILLING SPECIALIST I

Blessing Health is a healthcare organization seeking a Billing Specialist I to support management in the billing and collection of patient accounts. The role involves performing a variety of billing and clerical duties, improving accounts receivable performance, and resolving customer service issues. Responsibilities Performs a variety of billing duties as well as other clerical duties in support of Denman Services Inc This position is responsible for supporting management in the billing and collection of accounts receivable for patient accounts, cash application and reconciliation and/or resolving customer service issues The Billing Specialist must also have basic knowledge of accounting, healthcare, and general office procedures, and be capable of communicating clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, with peers, supervisors, payers, physicians, patients, other departments, etc The Billing Specialist is responsible for working to improve the performance of accounts receivable while minimizing controllable losses The Billing Specialist may be responsible for one or more of the following activities: billing, account resolution, payment discrepancy and payment denial resolution, processing correspondence, posting transactions, and other tasks This position assumes clinical and financial risk of the organization when collecting and documenting information on behalf of the patient Skills High School Diploma or Equivalent Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Software Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent time management skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data, work collaboratively and support efforts of team members, demonstration of exceptional customer service and be able to work independently Strong analytical and problem solving skills Must be able to successfully complete orientation/training program prescribed by Denman Benefits 401K + matching Up to 4 weeks paid time off in first year Onsite childcare - Quincy location 24/7 Wellness Center access Educational assistance opportunities Company Overview Welcome to Blessing Health System.
