Billing Specialist (Certified) – Contract 1099 | RemotePosition Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Billing Specialist to join our growing team. This is a 1099 independent contractor position that will begin on a part-time basis (10–15 hours per week), with opportunity for increased hours as our client base expands. This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must reside in Washington or Oregon. Compensation • $22–$25 per hour • 1099 Independent Contractor (no benefits) • Opportunity for increased hours based on performance and business growth Minimum Qualifications • Active medical billing certification (CPC, CPB, or equivalent required) • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on medical billing experience • Strong understanding of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid billing guidelines • Proficiency with EHR/Practice Management systems • Knowledge of claims submission, payment posting, denials management, and appeals • Experience working independently in a remote environment Key Responsibilities • Submit electronic and paper claims accurately and timely • Monitor claim status and resolve rejections/denials • Post payments and reconcile accounts • Manage A/R follow-up and aging reports • Prepare and submit appeals as needed • Communicate professionally with payers and internal stakeholders • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific billing regulations Remote Work Requirements • Must reside in Washington or Oregon • Reliable high-speed internet connection • Personal computer capable of supporting billing software and secure systems • Secure, private workspace that protects PHI and complies with HIPAA requirements Ideal Candidate • Highly organized and detail-oriented • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication • Self-motivated and able to manage workload independently • Committed to accuracy, compliance, and efficiency Job Type: Contract Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week Work Location: Remote Apply Now Apply Now
