Job Summary: Reporting to the Supervisor, Heavy Maintenance, the Technical Representative is responsible for the oversight of aircraft heavy maintenance requirements and special maintenance conducted internally by Porter or with other maintenance providers.   Please note the successful candidate can be located anywhere across Canada. Duties & Responsibilities: - Act as a liaison between Porter airlines and 3rd Party MROs for matters pertaining to aircraft heavy maintenance and other specialized maintenance - Ensure contract terms between Porter and 3rd party MROs are withheld - Continuous monitoring of work being conducted to ensure a high quality product is delivered back to Porters Operations team at the completion of the maintenance check - Assess and approve the maintenance providers generated Non-Routines, including approval of labour estimates and requesting revision of these estimates if required - Provide continuing oversight of the work being completed / requested during the check to ensure the scope, time span and cost are kept within budget - Work in conjunction with the purchasing and stores departments to ensure required tools and materials are present when required - Conduct regular check meetings between the MROs and the relevant departments in Technical Operations to ensure all departments are aware of the check status as well as all part and tooling requirements - Provide status updates and progress reports on maintenance check activities to the Technical Operations Management Team - Resolve queries from maintenance personal including manual references, skill set requirements, task understanding, deferral allowance of tasks - Work with maintenance software administrators and engineering to solve errors and omissions such as part effectivity and task discrepancies - Work with airframe, engine and component OEMs on concessions as well as engineering in addressing structural defects. - Ensure aircraft departs from maintenance providers facility with all agreed upon and scheduled/planned work accomplished. - Ensure proper release of the aircraft to and from service including a review of the work package requirements - Analyze post-maintenance data for improvement opportunities and implement as required - Analyze post-maintenance part requirements to ensure data is available for the purchasing team - Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy Behavioural Competencies: - Concern for Safety: Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others. - Teamwork: Working collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals. - Passenger/Customer Service: Providing service excellence to internal and/or external customers (passengers). - Initiative: Dealing with situations and issues proactively and persistently, seizing opportunities that arise. - Results Focus: Focusing efforts on achieving high quality results consistent with the organization’s standards. - Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus. Qualifications: - Hold a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (M2) License or FAA A&P License - Minimum 5 years’ experience working on a wide range of airframe systems such as electrical, navigation, flight controls and turbine engines. - Ability to frequently climb, kneel and crawl into tight spaces. - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. - Ability to obtain necessary Transport Canada security clearances and driver’s airside license within 6 months from date of hire. - Full unrestricted driver’s license with a clean abstract required. - Successfully complete the company background and pre-employment screening tests. - Must be willing to travel extensively for this position and be able to work shift work as required - Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills - Strong decision making and problem solving skills are essential - Experience with AMOS considered an asset Company Description: Since 2006, Porter Airlines has been elevating the experience of economy air travel for every passenger, providing genuine hospitality with style, care and charm.
