Classification Title: Adjunct Lecturer     Job Description: - Lecture and facilitate course topics and materials for DIG3525C Design and Production Studio 1, emphasizing technical and aesthetic aspects of the still image.  - Create and maintain a positive and engaging online learning environment. - Provide supplemental learning content as needed to enhance student understanding. (e.g., video feedback, additional reinforcement of lecture videos, etc.) - Develop and assess student assignments, providing timely and constructive feedback on student work.  - Monitor and respond to student inquiries and discussions on the online course platform.  - Adhere to the course schedule, stay updated with industry trends and advancements in digital production and design techniques to enhance course content and instruction.  - Promote academic integrity and enforce course policies and guidelines.  - Utilize appropriate online learning platforms, communication tools, and digital resources to deliver course content effectively.  - Maintain an organized course schedule and be available to students for support and clarification through online communication channels.  - Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of online learners and create an inclusive and supportive online learning environment. Expected Salary: Semester Pay: $4,500 – 5,000, commensurate with experience Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or related discipline with significant years of professional experience. - Demonstrated expertise and professional experience relevant to the course content for DIG3525C Design and Production Studio 1.  - Demonstrated ability to lead live digital demonstrations of design and production workflows, while clearly articulating process and troubleshooting in real time. - Demonstrated traditional artistic proficiency and strong visual design fundamentals (e.g., digital composition, color, typography), with working knowledge of industry-standard tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator). - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex concepts and provide constructive feedback to students.  - Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. Excellent organizational skills to develop and deliver course content within the designated timeframe.  Preferred: - Master's Degree or higher in a relevant field or related discipline.  - Experience teaching or instructing in an online or asynchronous setting.  - Proficiency in using online learning management systems (LMS), multimedia software, and digital tools relevant to course content.  - Demonstrated commitment to student success and engagement.  - Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate student needs and maintain regular online presence.  - Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and provide timely feedback and support to students.  - Familiarity with emerging technologies, including generative AI tools, and awareness of ongoing discussions surrounding their impact on digital design and production. - Evidence of success in promoting an environment that advances pluralism, curiosity, viewpoint diversity, open discourse, and the well-being of all.  Special Instructions to Applicants: - Cover Letter: Write a personalized letter that highlights your qualifications, teaching experience, and interest in the position.
