The Accounting Associate will be responsible for accounting and clerical duties in support of accounting functions, assisting in the preparation of financial statements and responding to inquiries from various departments.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for uploading wires and invoices into Nexus
- Assist in administrative functions for various departments
- Assist in compiling lender packages for monthly and quarterly requirements
- Assist in compiling various monthly and quarterly auditor’s requests
- Responsible for preparing wire transfers
- Responsible for preparation of journal entries
- Responsible for performing bank reconciliations
- Responsible for preparing management fees
- Responsible for preparing fixed asset forms
- Assist in maintaining and preparing the recoveries documentation
- Assist in maintaining the ASC Topic 840, Leases, (straight line) schedules
- Assist in preparing of lease inducement checklists
- Assist in various capacities with the financial reporting process including but not limited to compiling support for the release of Form 8-Ks. 10-Qs and 10-K
- Interface with various departments to assist towards resolving reconciling items and general accounting issues
- Assist in various Asset Management functions, such as Job Cost, Expiring Leases Report and Impak upload into the accounting software
- Assist in various AR functions, such as entering of cash receipts into the accounting software
- Assist accounting personnel on various projects as needed
- Perform general administrative functions, including answering phones, typing correspondence, copying
- Research and gathering information for various departments or as directed by management
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Minimum of 1-2 years of previous accounting experience (prefer experience in the real estate industry)
- Must be familiar with PC applications such as MS-Excel and MS-Word
- Great sense of urgency and ability to be multi-tasked in a fast-paced, high volume environment are a must
- Must have excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, exceptional work ethic and all around team player
- Must be deadline oriented
- Experience with Yardi accounting systems a plus
