We are recruiting for an HR Leave & Compliance Specialist to support a large health insurance organization by providing coverage for employee leave programs and supporting HR compliance initiatives. This is a full-time, 3-month temporary position with strong potential for extension based on business need. In this role, you will serve as a key resource for employee leave administration, compliance with NYS leave laws, and project-based HR support during a period of increased workload.
Key duties include:
- Supporting employee leave programs, including FMLA, NYS Paid Family Leave (PFL), Disability, ADA, and Protected Time Off
- Acting as a point of contact for employees, clearly explaining leave laws, timelines, and processes
- Partnering with an external Leave Vendor to troubleshoot claims-related issues (e.g., eligibility, start dates, documentation)
- Supporting ADA processes by understanding timelines, reviewing requests, and ensuring complete information is provided to the vendor
- Maintaining detailed, accurate documentation to ensure compliance with NYS-specific employment and leave laws
- Managing multiple priorities across business lines and assisting with lower-level HR projects as needed
- Using Microsoft Excel and internal tracking tools to organize and monitor leave activity
Pay: $28/hour
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, days
