Job Description Purpose: Under limited supervision, the GIS Contractor will perform the independent analysis, design, implementation, modification and upgrade of agency applications for geographic information systems and spatial data for the agency. Emphasis will be placed on SCDES GIS Infrastructure maintenance, security updates, and software updates. Job Responsibilities: • Implement, maintain, and provide technical support as the ArcGIS server administrator Assistant. • Coordinate and develop scripting and database management with the SCDES Database Administrator Assistant. • Design, implement and/or modify web, mobile and client/server-based GIS applications for program areas. Provide technical backup to other modules as assigned. Adheres to Information Technology application development standards and security requirements. Provide appropriate administrative documentation/project communication. • Allow flexibility to support smaller agency GIS projects or consultation.
