About the Role As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to balance your time between our remote office and home. You'll work with schools in the Cranbury, NJ area, providing high-quality instruction and support to students. Our hybrid model allows you to take control of your schedule, and we're committed to providing you with the tools and resources you need to succeed. Key Responsibilities Provide instructional support to students in the absence of the regular teacher Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular teacher or school administration Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment Communicate with school staff and administrators to ensure a smooth and effective substitute teaching experience Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss your performance and areas for growth Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a substitute teacher or in a related educational role Special education or paraprofessional experience Ability to work with diverse student populations and age groups (Kinder, Early Years, Elementary, Middle, High School) Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching, classroom management, and other best practices in education Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll need: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges Strong organizational and time management skills Flexibility and willingness to work varied schedules A commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we're invested in your success and committed to helping you grow in your career.
