Job Summary We're seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Teacher to join our team in Huntsville, AL. As a key member of our childcare center, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, warm, and inviting learning environment that encourages children to explore, discover, and grow. Responsibilities As an Assistant Teacher, you'll be responsible for: Assisting the Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that promotes learning and exploration. Communicating daily with families regarding student progress or needs to encourage partnership and support. Encouraging parent and community engagement by developing strong professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Maintaining a high-quality standard of care for every child by adhering to all minimum licensing, quality rated, and/or accreditation guidelines and company standards. Preparing and serving meals and snacks for children. Utilizing and adhering to assigned classroom's daily schedule, incorporating our science-based, proprietary curriculum and suggested supplement activities to create a fun and engaging learning environment. Assisting with keeping daily records, including attendance, child portfolios, USDA documentation, and other records required by local agencies. Contributing to the center's success by partnering with team members and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditations, and family engagement. Requirements To be successful in this role, you'll need: A genuine warmth and understanding of the needs of young children and their families. A positive attitude and self-image with a commitment to innovation and creativity. Strong communication skills with coworkers, parents, and children. A High School Diploma or GED. To pass the state-required criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications We're looking for candidates with: Early childhood education experience or a related field. A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Knowledge of child development principles and practices. Ability to work collaboratively with team members and leadership. Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you'll need: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
