Radian is a brand, design & technology studio helping biotech and life sciences companies translate breakthrough science into momentum. We help teams reach the next milestone—whether that’s fundraising, clinical progress, or partnerships. Our work includes brand strategy & design, decks & marketing materials, UX & UI design and engineering for web and apps. As we build our practice in biotech & life sciences, we’re looking for someone to help accelerate our progress. Why This Role Matters As Director of Biotech Strategy, you will be the face and connector for Radian in the biotech & life sciences ecosystem, helping us: • Strengthen our positioning and messaging in this market. • Connect quickly to opportunities with startup and mid-tier biotech companies that need sharper brand strategy, design, and communication to advance. • Shape a clear funnel of service offerings—from discovery workshops to strategy, brand, digital, and ongoing partnerships—structured around key company milestones. • Bring trusted relationships that open doors with investors, IR firms, incubators, accelerators, and other industry partners. • Guide client strategy development, helping us maximize effectiveness. • Represent Radian credibly at conferences, panels, podcasts, and events. • Help create original content that educates, attracts attention, and builds trust with founders, scientists, and investors. In short: help expand our portfolio of biotech and life sciences clients and increase our effectiveness in delivering value to them. Who We’re Looking For The right person will: • Speak the language of biotech. Deep experience in the life sciences ecosystem, with a specific focus on how companies communicate value to investors, partners, and key opinion leaders. • Be well connected. Alumni networks, peer credibility, and trusted relationships in the biotech hubs. • Blend strategy and action. Comfortable advising executives, shaping strategy, and rolling up your sleeves to help make progress. • Value variety. There are a variety of people who could find success in this role, but we imagine your story might resemble one of these: • The Corporate Leader: You have been a leader in a biotech company with experience in corporate communications or investor relations. You have mastered the art of shaping the narrative through financings and clinical milestones, and are now seeking a more creative, hands-on environment to apply your expertise across a portfolio of companies. • The Agency Strategist: You were a senior leader at a life sciences agency or communications firm. You’ve advised dozens of life sciences leadership teams but are ready to move to building a practice with a dedicated design and engineering team behind you. • Strategic Founder/Scientist: You have a deep scientific background (MD/PhD), but discovered your true passion lies in translating that science into a compelling strategy to build momentum and attract capital. You've held a senior strategy role and want to multiply your impact. What Success Looks Like Over the next year, with your leadership, we will: • Surface new opportunities quickly through your trusted introductions • Onboard half a dozen new, profitable biotech and life sciences clients • Create a compelling set of milestone-aligned service offerings • Build several fruitful partnerships with investors, IR firms, and accelerators, plus lay the foundation for a healthy partnership program • Expand and accelerate our new business engine (outbound, inbound) • Grow our market presence through your writing and speaking at events and micro-events we help build and support What We Imagine in Your Background • 10+ years in the biotech and life sciences industry, with substantive experience across 2–3 respected companies, plus a relevant educational background. • Strong foundations in brand, communications, technology, or product management. • Demonstrated experience in a senior corporate, communications, investor relations, or strategic marketing role within an investor-focused biotech or a specialized life sciences communication agency. • Extensive industry connections in areas like Boston, NYC, and San Francisco. • Track record of public thought leadership (speaking, writing, etc). • Known as a leader who brings out the best in others. • Entrepreneurial, action-oriented, collaborative. Bonus: experience in a top-tier design, consulting, or life sciences company.
