Director of Contact Lenses Location: Remote Department: Clinical & Product Strategy About the Role We’re seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Contact Lenses to lead the strategy, innovation, and growth of our contact lens category. This role blends clinical expertise, business acumen, and strategic leadership — empowering providers, delighting patients, and driving profitability across our network. As the organization’s subject matter expert in contact lenses, you’ll shape category direction, strengthen vendor relationships, and advance provider education to ensure our practices deliver the best possible outcomes for patients. You’ll collaborate with doctors, marketing, operations, and merchandising teams to bring new technologies to market and set the standard for excellence in contact lens care. What You’ll Do Strategic Leadership Define and execute the long-term vision for the contact lens category. Lead product strategy to align clinical excellence with business performance. Identify opportunities for innovation, category differentiation, and market expansion. Vendor & Product Expertise Serve as the go-to authority on all contact lens products and technologies. Build and maintain strategic partnerships with manufacturers and distributors. Evaluate new innovations for both clinical value and commercial potential. Provider Engagement & Education Design and lead training programs for doctors, opticians, and staff. Support providers in achieving confidence and consistency in prescribing lenses. Foster a feedback-driven culture to continually improve patient experiences. Business Growth & Performance Partner with cross-functional teams to drive category revenue and profitability. Develop KPIs for adoption, retention, and overall performance of the contact lens segment. Collaborate with marketing to design campaigns that increase awareness and adoption. Innovation & Collaboration Stay ahead of market trends and emerging technologies. Work with merchandising and field operations to optimize product rollouts, pricing, and inventory. Provide leadership insights to position the organization as a leader in contact lens care. What We Hope You’ll Bring 10+ years of progressive experience in the optical industry, with deep expertise in contact lenses. Comprehensive understanding of contact lens products, fitting, and prescribing. Proven success in category management, vendor negotiations, and strategy execution. Experience developing and delivering provider education programs. Collaborative leader with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive innovation.
