About the position The Data Center Controls Engineer at Amazon Data Services, Inc. is responsible for troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis for control systems in AWS data centers. This role involves managing Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), providing technical support, and ensuring the operational efficiency of critical data center equipment. Responsibilities • Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis or Corrective Action for Control Systems for AWS data centers. • Manage scope of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) in operational AWS Data Centers. • Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of BMS and EPMS systems. • Provide technical assistance and support to internal customers during the life cycle of the data center. • Provide technical support to in-service data centers. • Work with critical data center equipment including Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Switchgear, Transformers, Power Feeders, Chillers, Plumbing, Fire Detection/Suppression, Air Handling Units, Computer Room Air Handling/Conditioning Units, UPS, CRAH, and CRAC. • Drive practical constructability standards in design documentation. • Perform constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs associated with the construction of new data centers. Requirements • Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a related field. • One year of relevant experience as a Data Center Controls Engineer, Technical Operations Engineer, Controls Engineer, or a related occupation. • Experience in the design, commissioning, or construction of data centers or mission critical facilities. • Experience with installation, configuration, or servicing of electrical, mechanical, or hardware products using systems like Siemen's Apogee, Schneider Electric's PowerLogic, Schneider Electric's StruxureWare, Rockwell Automation's FactoryTalk, Tridium's Niagara, or Eaton's Forseer. • Experience in Controls or Electrical construction project coordination with multiple teams or vendors.
