ASSOCIATE ACCOUNTING ANALYST

The California High-Speed Rail Authority is a dynamic state agency looking for an Associate Accounting Analyst to support its accounting operations. The role involves performing accounting functions with a focus on Accounts Payable reporting to ensure compliance with applicable principles and regulations. Responsibilities Perform accounting functions under direction of the Accounting Administrator I Support the development, administration, and monitoring of the Authority’s accounting operations through accounting plans, policies, procedures, and standards Ensure that sound accounting decisions are made and adhered to Perform tasks with a concentration on Accounts Payable reporting functions to ensure the fiscal integrity of accounting data and compliance with all applicable accounting principles, state, federal and organizational rules, regulations, and procedures Skills Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov. All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position Resume is required and must be included Degree and/or School Transcripts Other - Provide unofficial transcripts if you meet minimum qualifications based on education. If selected for this position, official transcripts may be required Knowledge of accounting systems Accounts payable, general ledger, and accruals experience Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Excellent organizational, research and analytical skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate effectively to all staff levels Ability to maintain a positive, creative, and flexible approach to issues and problems while working in a fast-paced team environment Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience with account reconciliation, year-end process Experience in developing or updating accounting policies and procedures Experience as a team lead or project lead Experience interpreting and working with contract related accounting transactions Experience working in accounting, reporting, and tracking systems such as FI$Cal Experience in dealing with external fiscal control agencies or customers Benefits Health Vision Dental A retirement pension A telework stipend if applicable An array of other options Company Overview Caltrans District 3 is a government administration company based out of 703 B ST, Marysville, California, United States.
